My time in Merced has been cut short:

It's a bit weird. We had just had seven phone lines installed and moved from a motel to an apartment.

I had strawberry cream pie shake from Sonic to celebrate and commiserate. And I bought an Xbox 360.

So over summer I shot a sparrow by accident. Well, I meant to shoot it but I didn't realize it was a sparrow when I did. I felt bad then, and I still do when I see sparrows now. Just saw one on my way to the bank. It has changed the nature of how I feel about killing while hunting; I don't know if it would bother me if I did it again.

I've been off work for the last two weeks. It's rough coming back.

So I'm not shaving my head (for now). Instead, I'm not shaving at all. It itches, but I am enjoying irritating my wife with my gross-looking attempt at a beard. Apparently other people do not like it as well, judging from the looks and space I get on the street.

In other news, my latest obsession took me to Reno with my last $100 two weeks ago. It was spent pretty much as soon as I got out of my car, and I headed right back after procuring a tank of gas via credit card.

Of course, I came back with the transmission and transfer case I'd bought for the Jeep I'm building.

I guess I really am a redneck, despite my attempts to deny it. All well. I'll be able to drive over rocks, if I can afford the gas.

Now if I could only sleep.

I have a desire tonight to shave my head. I think I'll wait until I meet some dude to buy wheels tomorrow and then do it, if I still feel like it.

I have this weird phobia of octopus, which some of my friends have witnessed. Eating at sushi places, I've always had this fear I'd get the chef's choice and on my plate would be pieces of octopus. It finally happened last week. After some hesitation, I ate it. First piece I could feel a suction cup, which is the part I really don't like about them. But I kept chewing, and finished it all. It was a weird experience.

In other news, my wife bought me a bike. If anyone is down for a ride along the river, give me a call.

I spent the last five days in Orange County working on an election. I saw no ocean. I wore sunglasses inside. I bought Mexican chip things from a guy with a cart attached to a bike. My car was valet parked. I got out the vote.

Our candidate is down by 13 votes and I've returned to a land without Mexican food on every corner. It is hard to accept the lack of fine Mexican food.

And I go back next week and the week after that for different reasons! Yay!

I stepped on a banana peel this week. I didn't slip and fall in a comical manner. I was disappointed. Then I saw one on my staircase yesterday. I chose not to step on it and risk more disappointment.

I had a root canal Tuesday. I don't get the big deal. My mouth hurt before, not after. It really hurt before. Now I am on a mission to rub it into the tooth's face with sweets and varied temperatures of food. I don't think it cares though, because it's dead. Which is kind of weird, tooth #13 is dead and yet remains in my mouth. Mother fucker.

So yesterday I had a meeting at a coffee shop. And I ordered a white mocha, which threw the order guy off because that was it. No half caff or soy or whatever. So he had to ask if I wanted, you know, anything different. To make him happy I said no whipped cream, which they don't come with anyway. Of course I'm left wondering why I was spending $3.60 on coffee, when I can go next door and get a bigger cup for $0.99 and add french vanilla creamer to it. Especially when that's what I really like.

I hate La Bou.

Also I got a name plate on my door. It makes me feel special.

On lightrail this morning there was a crazy person. I was like, uh-oh, crazy person. But I realized I could be that crazy person. For real. Maybe that explains the experiences [info]stereogram and I've had with crazy people.

You're all invited to our wedding reception March 18. It's at the church in El Dorado at 1 p.m., and will be followed by drinking at Poor Red's. If you don't know how to get there and would like to go, let me know. And if you wanted to go and didn't get a paper invitation and feel left out, give me your address and I will send you one. Though I haven't sent any out yet.

Well, to top last week's news, I got married in Tahoe Saturday. It was awesome. And outside, done by a justice of peace. The vows and ceremony she used were exactly what we had been looking for, even though we didn't have anything to do with choosing them. They expressed our feelings so well, it made us sure we'd done the right thing. Nice weather too, although we wound up a bit sunburned and a car driving by decided to stop and watch.

1) Whiskey is anti-dramamine.

2) I apparently have one of those auto-spraying air fresheners now. It kept scaring the shit out of me because I didn't know what ppppfffff noise every few minutes was. It was worse for the beagle laying underneath it who growled every time at the smelly wet stuff that was landing on him but wouldn't move.

Holy fucking shit. I was witness to a fucking riot in Burker King in San Francisco tonight with [info]stereogram. There were metal pipes, bats and cops. Jesus Christ I hate San Francisco.
